They’re here! Catwalk show photos, hot and fresh out the kitchen.

Metalica1

Metalica2

Hurrah! In that second one you can see a bit of poor print-matching going on in the groin area – oops. You probably shouldn’t be staring at her groin anyway, perves.

My class’s theme this year was Fauna Metálica. I lost out a bit on the metallic front as I drew a number close to the beginning of the show and we were supposed to show a gradation in metallicness, which is a shame, because I do like everything to be SPARKLY. Just call me Pat Butcher. I made that joke once already, oh well. The jumpsuit is printed using sublimation heat transfer inks with my own design based on a Tegu – a kind of Argentine lizard. Apparently they make really affectionate pets. If you like having a massive lizard sit on your lap while you’re watching TV, that is. And the jacket is a delightful little laser-cut pleather number. Laser cut fabric smells really weird, by the way, despite it being HUGE on the Fashion Barometer right now. Pity those poor supermodels having to wear clothes that smell like burning tyres.

If you are interested in seeing the rest of my school’s work, do cast an eye over the video. The Fauna Metálica show begins at 5:47 where you can see my teacher, Sole, introducing the theme. HOLA SOLE! (Pretty sure she doesn’t read my blog).

backstage

And for your amusement, a photo of one of the models entertaining us backstage with her rendition of Adele over the tannoy. She also threw some Whitney in there for good measure.
